RSPB, Eden Project, ANC – Myth Makers: Rewriting nature’s stories workshops
Eden Project, The Art and Nature Collective, and RSPB are collaborating to deliver a storytelling-based workshop based on the journey of a seed floating down the Tay, imagining its adventures, growth and future.
Participants will be invited to write a short story about the seed’s journey, imagining where it might go and what it might see in the future. Then, they will fold the paper over so that only the last line or two is visible. Pass it on to the next person, who will continue the story and fold the paper again. Continue this process until you reach the end of the paper. Finally, The Myth Maker will reveal the story you have created together.
The workshops are suitable for children 6 years and older, and will include activities such as:
- A walking element to spark participants’ imaginations, connecting sensory experiences (sights, sounds) with creative thinking about nature. Renaming nature.
- Four workstations where participants develop different aspects of the same story (four stories on the go at the same time)
- An artist will support the storytelling element and another artist will illustrate.
- Seed exploration with Eden Project resources or nature-watching with binoculars (RSPB). Lunch will be provided between 12:30pm-1:30pm
Lunch will be provided between 12:30pm-1:30pm, for attendees of both sessions.
